How Does ICON Work?

The ICON laser system treats moderate-to-severe acne scars, wrinkles, stretch marks (and more) with two laser wavelengths. This allows us to target multiple skin concerns during a single treatment session. The MaxG hand piece uses intense pulsed light (IPL) technology to minimize spider veins, vascular lesions, sunspots, hyperpigmentation and redness. The 1540 fractional laser stimulates collagen and elastin production, which helps to firm up the skin and smooth out/reduce fine lines, surgical scars, acne scars and stretch marks. The procedure is minimally invasive and requires little to no downtime. We can customize your session based on your concerns and aesthetic goals.

What Can I Expect During Treatments?

We perform ICON skin revitalization as an in-office treatment. After we cleanse your skin, we will apply a topical numbing cream to cool your skin and help minimize any discomfort you might feel during the treatment. During your initial consultation, we will create a custom treatment plan just for you. During the procedure, you may receive treatment with the 1540 fractional laser, IPL or both. This will depend on the skin concerns that you are looking to address. Using ICON’s hand piece, we will make a few passes on your skin to induce collagen and elastin production. After the session is over, you can expect some minor redness or swelling. This should fade eventually, and aside from needing to protect yourself from the sun, you can return to your normal activities.

What Can I Expect to the Results?

Although patients usually notice visible improvements after 1 treatment, a series of 3-4 treatments is usually recommended to achieve optimal results. This is especially true if you are looking to improve the tone, texture and appearance of your skin. 5 treatments may be needed to treat stretch marks. Immediately after the procedure, you may notice darkening of the treated skin. This is normal, and the outer layers of your skin will soon exfoliate to reveal younger-looking, smoother skin. As your skin produces new elastin and collagen, you may notice a gradual reduction in fine lines. Over the course of several months, you may notice firmer skin.
